WINDSOR, CT, Jan. 22, 2010 (Press Release) - A new North American cut-size sheeter record was established over a 24 hour period at Domtar's Windsor, Quebec paper manufacturing facility. The new record of 609 short tons in a 24 hour period was realized running 75 GSM communications paper in letter format (8.5" x 11") on Domtar's bielomatik P1202/39 sheeter line.

The Xerox-certified bielomatik 12 pocket cut-size sheeter, nicknamed ‘Billy' has proven to be a dependable, high production machine since commissioning. Since commissioning, Domtar has made several successful upgrades to the machine provided by bielomatik and installed by bielomatik technicians to improve operational features and increase production.

The sheeter has (6) six double unwind units with automatic roll loading and continuous automatic roll splicing. Downstream equipment supplied by bielomatik, includes two high speed bielomatik CSW ream wrappers, case packers and other ancillary equipment.

The previous North American record of 555 short tons in a 24 hour period was also set by a 12 pocket bielomatik cut-size line at Domtar's Plymouth, North Carolina mill on May 23, 2006.
